How Long Should I Be Training for a Race?

Here are some typical training builds. Newer runners generally want to train a little longer than more seasoned runners.

  • 5k(3.1 miles): 8-10 weeks of training
  • 10k(6.2 miles): 8-10 weeks of training
  • Half Marathon (13.1 miles): 12-16 weeks of training
  • Marathon (26.2 miles): 12-16 weeks of training
